Liberty And The Tempest In The Tea Party Pot

Written almost a fortnight from the November elections . . . these are the rambling thoughts of an unabashed libertarian political junkie. I will try my best to add a fresh spin to the political discourse taking place in this country. We have at hand a potentially perilous moment in our history. Those that love liberty in the United States must understand the importance of what is at stake and what must be done to protect that liberty.

Any talk of the November elections deserves at least a brief mention of the Tea Party and its role in the politics of the present and future. This will be a recurring theme in future posts as I will attempt, for the benefit of readers, to deconstruct and better understand what the Tea Party is, and what it is not. What is evident is that the Tea Party is more than just a movement - it is a force. It is a mover, not just some novel political experiment that will quickly fade.

There are many issues to explore along these lines as we head toward what may be the biggest political earthquake in almost a century. This has the potential to not only shock and awe the political establishment, but to produce long, rolling currents of change for years to come.
